Lillian Sikorski has been training dogs and their owners for 30 years. She
realized at an early age that her communication with dogs differed
than that of other humans. As she interacted with her dogs, she
noticed their facial expressions, body movements and behaviors
would change depending on the situation. Through continued
observation and study she began to comprehend these
characteristics. Acting on these observations, she initiated a
training model built on repeatedly queuing a behavior and
rewarding desired results with positive reinforcement. Without
realizing it, she was learning a different language, Dog, and this
passion sparked her incredible career.
Recognizing this ability along with her passion to work with dogs she decided
to explore opportunities in dog training. To build on her talent
and increase her skillset, she enrolled in many credited seminars,
workshops and classes for dog training. After acquiring these
credentials, she researched the dog training industry and began
her first in-home dog training business in 1981 in Houston, Texas.
She relocated to the Dallas,Texas area and in 1993 continued
providing dog training services establishing an extensive
clientèles listing.
In 1995, Lillian became a certified in-home trainer for an organization
that exclusively trains rescue dogs for physically challenged
individuals. She has been featured in the Dallas market on local
radio and television programs to discuss service dogs, as well
as preferred training techniques for dog owners. Lillian has also
written informative dog training articles for local papers and to
build on her credentials she became a member of the Association of
Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). In 2004, she was voted one of the top
three dog trainers in the Dallas area by D Magazine. Now in
the Rockport/Fulton Texas area with her husband and their two golden boys, Cisco and
Cabo, Lillian is providing dog training services.
In addition to training, Lillian also provides photographers with her
dog and trained client’s dogs for advertisements and major
retail catalogs. In 2000, she broadened her goals and began
writing and publishing children’s books about the adventures
of her dogs. She takes her books and her golden retriever, Cisco
to elementary schools and gives presentations which focus on
safety issues and pet ownership.
