Toxic Plants and Dogs

Tail wags to all,

We dogs are sniffing so many new scents due to the strong winds this spring.

Samson caught a whiff of this really cool bottle brush plant so I started digging up information on plants. I checked the ASPCA website and it indicated that a bottle brush plant is not toxic to animals. Since many of you are planting this spring, I scratched out a short list of some plants that are poisonous to us canines:

Perennial Flowers

  1. Foxglove !
  2. Mums
  3. Lenten Rose

Vines

  1. English Ivy
  2. Morning Glory
  3. Wisteria Vines

Shrubs

  1. Rose of Sharon
  2. Azaleas
  3. Yellow Bird of Paradise

Foliage Plants

  1. Castor Beans
  2. Elephant Ears
  3. Hosta

Happy Planting!

Cabo Wabo and Samson
